Hearing Aid Bank
District 23-As Speech and Hearing Mission
The mission of the Hearing Aid Bank, established by the Lions Clubs of
District 23A is to make affordable hearing aids more accessible to
hearing impaired children and adults, who present a financial need or
when there are special circumstances that need considering. By playing a
role in improving the quality of life for the hearing impaired, we
advance the Lions Clubs purpose and motto, WE SERVE.
Success of the Hearing Aid bank depends on the availability of usable
hearing aids that can be reconditioned and the generosity of the Lions
Clubs of District 23A through their yearly contributions. All Clubs are
encouraged to support the Hearing Aid Bank by collecting hearing aids no
longer in use, and continuing yearly contributions to the Speech and
Hearing Program. This benefits both the Lions Hearing Aid Bank and the
Communication Disorders Program at Yale
New Haven Hospital. (link: http://www.ynhh.org/index.html).
